Smart Glass Doors
Glass doors that switch from clear to private. Keep the light and the open sightlines of glass, with privacy whenever the room needs it.
Overview
A glass door that knows when to be private
Glass doors open up a floor plan, but a meeting room, office or clinic room needs privacy at times. A switchable door gives you both without frosted vinyl or a blind hanging on the glass.
Full-panel switching
The whole door leaf switches, or just a vision panel within it, depending on the design.
Works with your hardware
Panels are manufactured with the cut-outs and holes for your hinges, patch fittings, locks and handles.
Wiring designed in
Power is carried through the hinge or floor detail, agreed with our team before production.

Common questions
Questions about doors
How does the power reach a moving door?
Through a power transfer hinge or a floor detail, planned with our team before the panel is manufactured.
Can a sliding door be switchable?
Yes. Sliding, barn and pivot doors are all possible; the power route is designed for the specific hardware.
Can it be fitted to glass I already have?
Yes, on suitable existing glass we apply our smart film. For new work or replacement glazing we supply complete laminated smart glass panels.
What happens when the power goes out?
Original PDLC is private when the power is off and clear when it is on. Reverse PNLC is the other way around and stays clear in a power failure.
How is it switched?
By wall switch, remote, mobile app, schedule, or integration with a building or access control system.
How much does it cost?
Our published prices start at $70 per sq ft for our smart film and $145 per sq ft for laminated smart glass. See the full breakdown on our smart glass cost page.
How long does it take?
