Smart Glass Skylights
Overhead glazing that turns frosted on demand, softening harsh sunlight and cutting glare while keeping the room daylit.
Overview
Daylight you can actually control
A skylight brings daylight deep into a building, and at certain hours it brings glare and heat with it. Switchable glass lets you soften the light without shading the room out.
Diffused, not blocked
In its private state the glass still passes daylight; the room stays bright while the direct glare disappears.
Nothing mechanical overhead
No motorised blind, cords or fabric above your head to service or replace.
Solar and UV control
Over 98% UV blocking, and 100% when the glass is off, protecting floors and furniture.

Common questions
Questions about skylights
Is smart glass suitable overhead?
Overhead glazing has specific structural and safety requirements. Our team reviews the build-up and framing for each project before quoting.
Does it keep heat out?
Switching to the private state reduces direct solar gain through the glass, and the product blocks over 98% of UV.
Can it be fitted to glass I already have?
Yes, on suitable existing glass we apply our smart film. For new work or replacement glazing we supply complete laminated smart glass panels.
What happens when the power goes out?
Original PDLC is private when the power is off and clear when it is on. Reverse PNLC is the other way around and stays clear in a power failure.
How is it switched?
By wall switch, remote, mobile app, schedule, or integration with a building or access control system.
How much does it cost?
Our published prices start at $70 per sq ft for our smart film and $145 per sq ft for laminated smart glass. See the full breakdown on our smart glass cost page.
How long does it take?
Typical production is 2-4 weeks, with delivery in 5-10 days depending on size and scope.
Do you install it?
